L Cannon Communications was built on the dedication and craftsmanship of its founder, Leo Cannon.  

Leo began his career in telecommunications while serving in the U.S. Air Force beginning in 1972, where he developed the technical skills and discipline that would shape his lifelong work.  After completing his service, he joined Gray Communications and quickly grew into a trusted project manager, leading major installations for organizations such as Duquesne Light, PPG Industries, H.J. Heinz, St. Vincent Health Center, and the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory.

In 1988, Leo expanded his expertise with Sargent Fiber Optics, overseeing the installation of the security, card access, and CCTV systems for the newly constructed Pittsburgh International Airport—one of the region’s most significant infrastructure projects of its time.  His leadership and reputation continued to grow, and in 1992 he became a part owner of EXC Communications, where he played a hands-on role in delivering telephone, voice, data, and fiber optic solutions throughout the region.

By 2001, Leo was ready to build something of his own.  He founded L Cannon Communications, LLC with a commitment to quality workmanship, integrity, and customer-focused service—a standard that still anchors the company today.

Over the past two decades, L Cannon Communications has grown from a small founder-led operation into a trusted low-voltage contractor serving hospitals, universities, enterprise businesses, data centers, and major facilities across Pennsylvania and beyond.  The team has contributed to countless meaningful projects—powering mission-critical environments, supporting large-scale infrastructure upgrades, and delivering systems that help organizations operate safely and efficiently. This steady growth is a reflection of the values Leo instilled: do the work right, stand behind it, and treat people with respect.

Why the Lion
The lion is more than a symbol—it is a tribute to our founder.  Inspired by Leo’s name, the lion represents the qualities he embodied: strength, dependability, pride in craftsmanship, and unwavering leadership.  It stands as a visual reminder of his influence on the company and the standards he set from day one.

Just as lions are defined by their pride—their family—L Cannon Communications is defined by its team.  Our success is built on talented individuals who support one another, uphold Leo’s values, and work together with the same unity, loyalty, and purpose that a pride represents.  The lion reflects not only where we come from, but who we are: a team committed to carrying forward Leo’s legacy with courage, integrity, and excellence.
